What is the Law of Attraction
...and how does it work???
Depending on who you ask, there are a different number of Universal Laws that dictate the rules by which our Universe is governed. One of the most popular and widely talked about is the Law of Attraction.
The Law of Attraction states, “that which is like unto itself is drawn.” More simply put, means that like attracts like. Unfortunately though, the nuances or characteristics of this law are nowhere near as. simple or clear cut. This is because the Law of Attraction is directly associated with the frequency of your energy vibration. Meaning, wherever your energy is focused you will attract to you, like a magnet, that which you are focused on. For example, if you say, “dog,” but you are thinking, “cat,” you will attract the cat regardless of how many times you say or how loud you yell, “dog!”
Your energy vibration is a beautiful blend of focus (attention), intention, beliefs, and thoughts. You can locate where your vibrational frequency is on any subject matter by being in tuned with and understanding your emotions as they pertain to that subject. So, the emotion you feel activated on any subject is the clue you have to understanding where your vibration is on that subject. Although each of us has a general vibration, not only does it change from day to day, but it also changes depending on what we are focused on.
Once you have successfully determined your emotion on a specific subject and understand whether or not you are feeling and thinking in resistence to it then you are ready to use the Law of Attraction to manifest. If you are not sure of where your thoughts and emotions are on any given subject during your day, I suggest downloading an Emotional Tone Scale to determine where your vibrational frequency is focused. The scale should be kept on your person at all times. Throughout your day, check in with yourself using the scale to see where you are currently vibrating. If you find that your thoughts and feelings are focused on what you don’t like or what you don’t want than quickly pivot your thoughts by asking yourself what you do want.
The Law of Attraction, is just that… a Law of our universe (sort of like the laws of physics) that is always working whether you are aware of its presence or not. It work off of your energy. So, if you say no to something, in essence you are still focusing your attention on that thing. Therefore, observing something that you do not like and shaking your head no at it is not an effective way of preventing its presence in your reality. Instead, identify what about that subject you do not like or do not want and ask yourself, “If this is what I do not want and focusing on what I don’t want will bring me more of what I don’t want, then what do I want instead? What would I prefer?” Ironically, many people when asked this question directly have a difficult time determining what it is they want. But once you know what you want, once you can answer that question, it is time to focus your attention on whatever it is that you DO want.
The fastest way to manifest using the Law of attraction is to look for pleasing things around you. I like to start my morning off (before looking at the phone) with a gratitude journal entry. If this is foreign or difficult for you, you can simple spend 10-15 minutes THINKING about what pleases you, allowing emotions to dominate the thoughts. For example, I happen to love flowers and trees and the feeling of a cool breeze across my face, the sound of the leaves rustling. I close my eyes and imagine these things or, if it’s a beautiful day I’ll go for a walk and experience them first-hand, focusing on the feeling observing these things provide.
Throughout your day, look for pleasing things, people, or situations around you. Acknowledge them and take a second to appreciate their abundance in your reality. In the seeking, finding, and appreciation of that which is already around you more will be attracted to you that is to be appreciative of. That is how to Actively use the Law of Attraction. When you are passively experience the Law of Attraction at work it truely seems as if the events in your reality are random. But, once you see the affects of thinking on purpose, creating your own reality through your thoughts and their corresponding emotions, you will realize just how non-random life experiences are. Your thoughts create your reality!
